The season of Advent embraces us with the mystery that “the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14.
The Incarnation reminds us that God chooses to meet us where we are and invites us into a deeper relationship.
Advent gives us the opportunity to prepare our hearts to receive the incredible gift of Christmas.
This Advent season, come join the Band of Sisters in collaboration with the Contemplative Prayer Group of the parish as we pray together in the spirit of Taizé on Tuesday, December 10 at 7pm in Sacred Heart Church (the old cathedral) 100 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC.
This Advent Taize Prayer will be a time to rest in God as the words of the spoken reflections and sung refrains penetrate our souls. The elegantly simple service made up of short chants, often in Latin, repeated over and over in the candle-lit space, coupled with brief readings and periods of silence, can serve as a quiet, still point in an otherwise busy season.
